It's been another busy week working on MODULAR22!

Dan and I began the week up in Grand Rapids to pick up the rest of the panels from Advanced Laser Cutting Technologies.  After driving up Monday afternoon, we spent the evening hanging out with friends and enjoying local libations at Founders Brewery.

Tuesday afternoon we headed over to ALCT for the rest of the panels.  We got to see them laser cutting the last batch got to take a few pictures to share with you.

And if driving back from GR was not enough for one day, I went right to Pecha Kucka Chicago to speak about the project.  It was a great opportunity to share the project with new people and hear others talk about their work.

Wednesday morning was for lounging on the couch.  Max was mad we had left him for a night, but happy to have us home.  Max would be very embarrassed that I shared this with you, he is normally a very serious artist.

After a busy week, it's been great to finally have all the panels around to play with!

The Modular22 Poster

Over the weekend I finalized the design of the Modular22 poster and promotional postcard, and they're now at the printer. These are what we'll be sending out to our generous Kickstarter backers, and we'll also be using them to promote the Modular22 exhibit around Chicago. The poster features a monolithic rendering of the Modular22 structure and a little bit of explanatory text, and it was designed to fit in with the continuing 22 poster series. This poster happens to be the 18th poster since we began the series in late 2011. Take a look:

Here's a detail of the structural drawing:

And here's a selection of previous 22 posters, some from exhibits earlier in the year, and some from the market series we ran in the first part of 2012.

The Modular22 poster and postcard should be back from the printer in the next week or two. We'll be sending them out to our Kickstarter donors later this year, once we have the Modular22 book underway. We're also playing around with a couple other ideas for commemorative Modular22 objects, so we'll keep you updated.

Finally, we're going to pick up the rest of the wooden panels from Advanced Laser Cutting Technologies in Grand Rapids tomorrow. That means we'll have all 360 panels in our shop this week, so the construction can commence....

A cup of coffee and a donut on a grey day.  Going through the list of MODULAR22 artists to make sure we have everything we need from them.  Next week we will be getting the rest of the panels from Advanced Laser Cutting Technologies in Grand Rapids.
